David Davidovich Burliuk (July 21, 1882 – January 15, 1967) was a Ukrainian avant-garde artist (Futurist, Neo-Primitivist), book illustrator, publicist, and author associated with Russian Futurism. In the words of his publisher Maria (also Maryussia) Burliuk, David Burliuk was the father of “Soviet Russian Futurism.”

I’ve just discovered that one of my favourite tattooed ladies with this fabulous Last Supper tattoo is actually Artoria [Anna] Gibbons [featured here;]
Charles Gibbons tattooed Anna with full color images from her favorite classical religious artwork. Her tattoos included illustrations of angels and saints as well as patriotic images, including George Washington.
