And just one more for Monday Dali in the spirit of surrealism and fashion that got into me lately;]
“Looking like the back-seat driver of a flying saucer, Madelle Hegeler shows off weirdly striking jewelry by Salvadore Dali in New York. With a sculptured gold hand (l), real ruby lips with pearl teeth, an “Eye of Time” watch worn like a monocle, and a “Corset Ring,” she made a striking and widely circulated picture. But a lot of people wanted to know what Madelle looked like minus the spectacular jewels. May,1959  - original caption from corbis
[methinks that after a year or so this deserves to be featured once again!]

Schiaparelli *, in a surrealistic mood, designs this red satin, visored evening cap with an elongated peephole for the eye. A diamond clip from Van Cleef & Arpels makes a weird eyebrow, 1949
