   salfordskyline:In 1937, Life magazine announced the grand opening of the Allen Gilbert School of Undressing in Manhattan. The school, founded by burlesque show producer Allen Gilbert, promised to teach New York housewives proper “disrobing methodology” in a six-session course offered for $30. Lectures at the school typically began with “Bedroom Don’ts”. Featured here is Connie Fonzlau, a burlesque performer and professor at the school, demonstrating “what a knot some women make of clothes.”
